On October 28, over 100 supporters of Călin Georgescu gathered at the Bucharest Court of Appeal during a hearing regarding a DIICOT appeal against a previous ruling. They were checked at the entrance and had to leave behind items like flags and banners. Meanwhile, more than 200 people protested outside, chanting supportive slogans. The court is expected to set a date for the appeal concerning the preventive arrest of Georgescu and businessman Ionel Rusen, who are under investigation for organized crime and fraud. Their initial preventive arrest warrants expire at midnight. Georgescu has also been implicated in two additional criminal cases during his detention, including illegal operations involving software and attempts to alter data.
