In the first nine months of 2026, fire safety inspections in Sibiu revealed that 74 facilities operated without fire safety authorization, leading to over 1,300 deficiencies and fines exceeding 1.3 million lei. Despite these findings, no activities were suspended. The ISU Sibiu conducted 422 inspections, identifying most issues among economic operators. The report also highlighted a significant number of rejected requests for fire safety approvals, with more rejections than approvals. New regulations for commercial activities regarding fire safety were introduced, but details on the types of facilities lacking authorization remain unclear.
