Romania is expected to reach around 2,000 MW of energy storage capacity next year, doubling the current capacity. Cristian Bușoi highlighted that most storage systems are designed for two-hour durations, with some projects extending to four hours. The growth in energy production capacity has largely been driven by private investments and prosumers. Recent developments show limited projects from public companies, with a notable increase in solar panel installations by citizens and small enterprises. Bușoi emphasized that energy investments could have progressed faster, particularly within state-owned companies and public institutions.
