The Senate approved a minimum 5% down payment for young people under 35 in the 'Noua Casă' program, extending it to loans between €70,001 and €140,000. The proposal now moves to the Chamber of Deputies. This initiative aims to lower the barrier for young buyers by reducing the initial down payment required. It is expected to alleviate pressure on the rental market as well. The government program also includes plans for social housing funding and legal frameworks for housing cooperatives.
