Over 36,000 Romanian students from disadvantaged backgrounds will receive monthly social scholarships of 925 lei for the 2026-2027 academic year. This financial support, funded by European and national resources, aims to prevent university dropout. Students who received scholarships last year must reapply. Eligibility criteria include being aged 18-29, enrolled in a state-funded program, and attending a selected higher education institution. Universities will conduct a new selection process, and students must check with their institutions for details. Selected students will also have access to online educational support activities.
