Benone Moraru, the mayor of Slănic Moldova, was detained by DNA prosecutors for bribery allegations. He allegedly received €15,000 in July 2026 as part of a contract related to emergency water supply services. Moraru was also caught receiving an additional €6,000 in October 2026. He is facing a proposal for preventive arrest for 30 days.
