Winter conditions have arrived in Romania's mountainous regions, with significant snowfall and low temperatures reported. Authorities warn that travel in these areas may be challenging due to the snow cover. In the Bucegi and Făgăraș Mountains, snow depths exceed 30 centimeters at high altitudes, prompting road maintenance efforts. The Transfăgărășan road has also seen snow accumulation, requiring immediate intervention from road crews to ensure safe travel. Drivers are advised to avoid high-altitude areas unless their vehicles are properly equipped for winter conditions, as icy roads and ongoing snowfall pose risks.
