Turkey's MKE has successfully tested a laser weapon system called Tolga, capable of targeting drones at various ranges. During the Ateş Serbest-2026 exercises, a quadcopter was destroyed at 760 meters using a 20 kW laser. The system can blind, damage sensors, or physically eliminate targets within specified distances. Tolga features a 360-degree coverage and can also engage ground targets. This advancement follows the successful implementation of an acoustic detection system, with plans to integrate ENFAL-17 rocket launchers. Tolga is designed for short-range air defense against UAVs, incorporating various weapon modules and an open architecture for future enhancements.
