Around 200 passengers from various countries were unexpectedly disembarked from the cruise ship Odyssey during a stop in Cambodia. The ship, which had been on a long-term journey since October 2024, faced operational issues leading to the abrupt decision. Passengers were given only a few hours to leave the vessel, with some opting to fly out while others remained in the city awaiting updates. The cruise operator, Villa Vie Residences, cited skyrocketing fuel costs as a reason for suspending operations in Cambodia. Many passengers had sold their belongings to secure long-term stays on the ship, leaving them in a precarious situation.
