The Permanent Electoral Authority (AEP) informed the Government about the need for elections in 35 localities due to early terminations of mayor mandates. Discussions on electoral reform were held between AEP President Adrian Țuțuianu and Prime Minister Luca Niculescu. They plan to meet to outline necessary legislative changes. Țuțuianu emphasized the importance of establishing a special parliamentary committee to review AEP proposals and ensure legislative approval by June 2027.
