In Sibiu County, domestic violence offenses have increased by nearly 29% in 2026, with 764 cases reported in the first nine months. Among the 794 victims, 104 are minors, and there were three attempted murders. The majority of offenses involved physical violence, with 403 incidents recorded. Police responded to over 2,000 domestic violence cases, with 627 assessed as posing imminent risk. Despite 299 protection orders issued, violations of these orders remain a concern. The report highlights that most victims are current or former partners, and the data reflects a growing issue of domestic violence in the region.
