The TransRegio road project connecting Brăila, Slobozia, Drajna, and A2 has progressed in the environmental approval process. The National Agency for Environment and Protected Areas has signed guidelines for experts to assess environmental impacts. A detailed report will evaluate potential effects on protected natural areas, including Natura 2000 sites. Public consultation will follow the submission of documents. The project aims to enhance road connections in southeastern Romania, with an estimated cost of 2.5 billion euros. The feasibility study is ongoing, and the design and execution contract has yet to be tendered.
