A recent study indicates that performing simple exercises like wall squats or planks once a week can effectively lower and maintain blood pressure. Researchers focused on isometric exercises, which involve muscle contractions without joint movement. The study involved 100 participants who initially engaged in high-intensity interval training, then reduced their exercise frequency to assess the impact on blood pressure. After four weeks, those doing isometric exercises saw a significant drop in blood pressure compared to a control group. Even with reduced frequency, participants maintained some benefits. The findings suggest that while more frequent exercise yields better results, even minimal activity can help sustain health benefits during busy periods.
