A Romanian truck driver was sentenced to four years in prison in France after authorities found 407 kilograms of cannabis resin in his vehicle. He claimed financial difficulties and his mother's health issues led him to accept the illegal transport. The drugs were discovered on October 22 in a parking area on the A8 highway. Initially denying involvement, he later admitted to transporting the drugs from Spain to Italy for €5,000. The court also imposed a €3.26 million customs fine and a permanent ban from France. His lawyer argued he was exploited by traffickers targeting financially vulnerable individuals.
