The Minister of Culture, Ioana Ciocan, acknowledged a clerical error regarding the valuation of Nicolae Grigorescu's painting "Peisaj," which was mistakenly recorded at 3.5 lei instead of its historical value of 35,000 lei. She emphasized the need for reevaluation of cultural assets every ten years and highlighted the challenges faced by museums, including limited resources and low salaries. Ciocan pointed out that the responsibility for asset evaluation cannot fall on a single institution due to the vast number of items involved. The painting is currently stored at the Museum of Art in Ploiești, which operates independently of the Ministry of Culture.
