Thales and the Romanian Ministry of National Defense have signed a contract for four mobile radar systems to enhance airspace surveillance capabilities. The systems will improve the operational flexibility of the Romanian Air Force by allowing operations from alternative locations, reducing reliance on fixed infrastructure. Deliveries will occur in phases, with completion expected by 2030. The radars will provide real-time data to national and NATO command systems under various weather conditions. This acquisition is part of a modernization program aimed at enhancing the Air Force's mission capabilities and highlights the industrial cooperation between Romania and France.
