A beer barrel lost in the 1970s has resurfaced in the Zillertal Alps, revealing a unique piece of South Tyrolean history. Discovered by Daniel from Harpf, the barrel fell into a crevasse during a helicopter delivery and remained buried for decades. Upon recovery, it was found that the beer, dating back to 1978, was still drinkable due to preservation by ice. A small group gathered to taste the beer, which was surprisingly still potable. This event holds sentimental value for Harpf, as the barrel likely originated from their own storage.
