In the recent elections, Netanyahu's Likud party received the most votes, but the anti-Netanyahu bloc led by Eisenkot is projected to secure more seats in the Knesset. Likud is expected to gain 25 seats, while Eisenkot's Yashar party is forecasted to win 21. The anti-Netanyahu coalition could achieve a total of 53 seats compared to 50 for Netanyahu's supporters. To govern, Netanyahu needs to form a coalition with at least 61 seats. Eisenkot, as the main challenger, may attempt to establish a minority government with Arab parties if given the mandate. Voter turnout was notably high, reaching levels not seen in four decades, but Eisenkot must still secure a majority to avoid a political deadlock that could leave Netanyahu as interim prime minister.
