The Russian Embassy in Bucharest claims that Romanian authorities provided no evidence linking Russia to the September 14 fire at Carfil Brașov. Following a meeting with the Romanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the embassy stated that accusations against Russia were unfounded. The Russian diplomat rejected any insinuations of sabotage and emphasized that Russia has never conducted such acts in Romania or elsewhere. The ambassador urged Romania not to associate Russia with the actions of Ukraine, which he described as a source of threats in the Black Sea region. He highlighted that Ukrainian forces have targeted numerous commercial vessels, resulting in casualties among sailors.
