A new drug combination significantly lowers the death risk for small cell lung cancer patients, improving survival rates. Imdelltra and Imfinzi together reduced mortality by 58% compared to Imfinzi alone. The median survival increased by over eight months, with nearly 80% of patients alive after one year. However, the combination treatment also led to higher rates of severe side effects, including a serious inflammatory response in nearly half of the patients. The study results were presented at a major medical conference and published in a leading journal.
