The painting "Landscape" by Nicolae Grigorescu is valued at 3.50 lei in the Ploiești Art Museum, a significant drop from its 35,000 lei valuation in 1989. This decline is attributed to inflation and currency redenomination in the 1990s. The museum director highlights that many works by Grigorescu and other Romanian artists require expert evaluations. An art market specialist estimates the painting's true value between 20,000 and 30,000 euros. The museum has not had funds for evaluations since 2017, and the local council awaits a cost estimate before allocating funds for this purpose. A report from the Prahova Court of Accounts recommends a phased reevaluation of the museum's assets by March 31, 2027.
