Ukraine has successfully launched the OBRIA NANO communications satellite, marking a significant step towards establishing an independent satellite communication network. Developed by HIMERA and GomSpace, the satellite aims to enhance Ukraine's strategic security and reduce reliance on foreign technologies. OBRIA NANO will be operated by a Ukrainian entity and is part of a broader initiative to create a national satellite infrastructure. This project is crucial for diversifying communication channels and ensuring national security, especially in the context of ongoing conflicts. Future plans include localizing satellite and ground terminal production in Ukraine to build domestic expertise in satellite communications.
