The Energy Minister announced that one of the reactors at the Cernavodă Nuclear Power Plant could restart around November 15, depending on the Danube's water levels. Both reactors are currently offline due to low water levels. The minister noted that while the Danube's flow has increased recently, it is not yet sufficient for a restart. He mentioned that controlled shutdowns occurred on July 28 and August 13, with the plant previously supplying about 20% of the national electricity. Measures to increase water supply for cooling have not yielded expected results, and discussions are ongoing about diverting water from the Danube to support the plant's operations. The minister plans to visit Cernavodă this week to assess the situation.
