For the 29th consecutive night, supporters gathered outside the Central Arrest in the capital to back Călin Georgescu, who was arrested for fraud. Around 100 people displayed Romanian flags and banners demanding his release, chanting his name. Despite rainy weather, they created makeshift shelters. The Bucharest Tribunal recently ordered Georgescu's release after 30 days in custody, pending further investigation under judicial control. The decision can be contested by prosecutors. Georgescu faces serious charges related to organized crime and fraud, stemming from a complaint by a businessman who claims to have lost 1.1 million euros due to false promises of funding.
