The postal services market in Romania grew by 14% in 2025, reaching a record value of over 900 million lei. The increase was driven mainly by parcel traffic, which rose to 372 million, aided by automated delivery systems. The average revenue per parcel was nearly 15 lei, and 90% of parcels weighed less than 10 kg. Automated systems saw a 28% increase, with over 10,500 units in operation. Despite a decline in correspondence revenues, the average revenue per item rose to 3.8 lei. The number of complaints increased by 6%, with compensation awarded for many. Overall, the sector faced a 9% decrease in employees, while productivity per employee improved significantly.
