Heavy snowfall and fog have temporarily closed the Transfăgărășan road due to adverse weather conditions. The closure, effective from October 27 at 18:00, affects the section between Piscul Negru and Bâlea Cascadă. The National Company for Road Infrastructure Administration (CNAIR) has deployed snow removal equipment but safety concerns necessitated the closure. The reopening will depend on weather developments and safety assessments. Road signs will be installed to indicate the closed section. Similar weather conditions have also impacted the Transalpina road, where snow was recorded recently.
