The Galați City Hall is developing a photovoltaic park in the Tirighina area, funded by a 25 million lei European project. Currently, the structure for solar panels is under construction on a former landfill site. The park will have a minimum installed capacity of 4 MW and 8,000 solar modules, producing an estimated 5,630 MWh of electricity annually. This energy will be connected to the National Energy System and will significantly contribute to the public lighting needs of Galați. The project is expected to be completed by summer 2027, with funding secured through a contract with the Ministry of Energy.
