Moldova plans to import natural gas from Romania's Neptun Deep starting autumn 2027, reducing transport costs significantly. Prime Minister Vasile Tofan announced this after discussions with Romanian counterpart Luca Niculescu. Romania is set to become Europe's largest natural gas producer, doubling its output with Neptun Deep's exploitation. Tofan emphasized the benefits for Moldova's consumers and the importance of energy independence. Niculescu assured continued support for Moldova's energy security and integration into European infrastructure, aiming to prevent energy-related geopolitical manipulation.
