Romania is entering a crucial phase for the new EU multiannual financial framework. The government must expedite current program implementation, finalize the PNRR without losses, and prepare a strategy for utilizing EU funds from 2028 to 2034. Minister Mihai Ghigiu emphasized the importance of business involvement in shaping funding priorities during the Euro Industry Summit. The Ministry of Investments and European Projects (MIPE) is working against the clock to finalize administrative procedures for PNRR funds, with a deadline of November 6. Romania needs to develop mature projects for future funding, focusing on competitiveness and strategic technologies. The new National and Regional Partnership (PPNR) must involve contributions from various stakeholders, including local authorities and businesses, to ensure effective planning and execution of EU funds.
