Thales has signed a contract with Romania's Ministry of National Defense to supply four mobile radar systems for airspace surveillance. These systems will enhance the Romanian Air Force's operational flexibility and resilience by allowing relocation and alternative site usage. The phased delivery of the radars, expected by 2030, will provide real-time data to national and NATO command systems. The mobile radars will support aircraft approach and landing procedures, even in low visibility conditions. This investment aims to improve Romania's air traffic management capabilities and interoperability with NATO, ensuring enhanced operational situational awareness on the eastern flank of the Alliance.
