The Bucharest Tribunal ruled that judicial control for Călin Georgescu is sufficient, stating that preventive arrest is unjustified due to lack of evidence for new charges. The court found no minimal factual elements indicating the commission of the alleged crimes and noted that the prosecution's claims were based on mere assumptions. The judges emphasized that the defendants did not evade prosecution or attempt to influence evidence. Continuing detention would be disproportionate, and judicial control is adequate for ensuring the proper conduct of the criminal process. The DIICOT has appealed the decision, with a hearing scheduled before the Bucharest Court of Appeal.
