The opening of Section 4 of the Sibiu-Pitești Highway depends on two key stages: final tests of the Momaia tunnel and the completion of the exit to DN73G. Cristian Pistol, the general director of CNAIR, provided updates on the project's timeline and technical checks during a site visit. The Momaia tunnel is undergoing extensive monitoring with over 2,500 points of surveillance to ensure safety. The physical progress of the exit to DN73C has surpassed 80%. The highway section, built by the Austrian company PORR, will allow traffic on approximately 54 kilometers of the total 122 kilometers of the Sibiu-Pitești Highway after its opening, scheduled for this year.
