The new Russian cruise missile "Filin" has a range of up to 1,200 kilometers and can fly at low altitudes, potentially increasing pressure on Ukraine's air defense. Developed by the Molniya Scientific Production Association, it features a turbojet engine and can reach speeds of 800 km/h. The missile is designed to be cost-effective and has two warhead options of 50 kg and 100 kg. Experts believe that if mass production begins, it could challenge Ukraine's defenses significantly. The missile's low-altitude flight capability makes it harder to detect and intercept, while its robust navigation system enhances its resilience against electronic warfare. Although intercepting "Filin" is possible with existing air defense systems, it may require expensive munitions, complicating the defense strategy.
