On October 27, Minister of Transport Ovidiu Popa will assess the progress of the Tigveni – Curtea de Argeș section of the Sibiu – Pitești Highway. The 9.86 km section is complete, pending safety checks for the Momaia tunnel, Romania's first drilled highway tunnel. The project, valued at 1.678 billion lei, aims for an early opening in 2026. Additionally, Popa will meet with Environment Minister Diana Buzoianu to address environmental agreement delays affecting other highway sections. A contract for stabilizing a landslide on the Călimănești bypass has been signed, and the TAROM restructuring plan is expected by December 15, ahead of the EU deadline.
