Pensioners who paid progressive tax on pensions between January 1, 2024, and January 30, 2025, may receive refunds. A bill proposed by USR deputy Radu Miruță outlines the categories eligible for this refund, which will be returned in three installments by March 2028. Payments will be made automatically without requiring applications from pensioners. However, certain groups, such as military personnel and judges, will be excluded from receiving refunds. The tax will be recalculated using a flat rate of 10% on amounts exceeding a non-taxable threshold. The refunds are a response to the Constitutional Court's ruling declaring the progressive tax unconstitutional.
