Starting November 3, all passengers flying to the U.S., including those from Romania, must sign a declaration confirming they have not been in the Democratic Republic of Congo in the last 21 days to prevent the spread of Ebola. This measure, mandated by the CDC, applies to all international flights and requires airlines to check the declarations before boarding. Passengers must complete the declaration individually, and those who have been in Congo within the specified timeframe are prohibited from boarding. The declaration process also includes travelers who have transited through Congolese airports. The ongoing Ebola outbreak in Congo has raised health concerns, although the risk to the EU population remains low.
