On October 29, the Sibiu Local Council will vote on a zoning plan allowing buildings up to 25 meters high on Cuarțului Street, despite objections from Valletta Park residents. The plan increases the land use coefficient (CUT) by 20%, enabling higher construction and a new access road. Residents expressed concerns about potential shadowing and overcrowding, requesting a reduction in building height and a sunlight study. The project, initiated by Mayor Astrid Cora Fodor, modifies previous zoning regulations and includes infrastructure improvements funded by developers. Approval of the plan does not grant construction permits immediately.
