The Turceni power plant has halted operations again due to a malfunction in the boiler of its only operational unit, Group 5. This incident occurred early Tuesday morning, leading to a temporary suspension of electricity production. Group 5, with a capacity of 285 MW, has faced multiple outages in recent months due to similar issues, particularly in the vaporizer area. Repairs are expected to be completed by the end of the week. The plant is part of the Oltenia Energy Complex, which has gradually decommissioned its units, leaving Group 5 as the sole operational unit. The government has approved the temporary availability of Group 5 until early 2028 to ensure energy production capacity remains for the national grid.
