The Hungarian government has ended its collaboration with the Eurotrans Foundation, which facilitated citizenship applications for ethnic Hungarians in Transylvania. From now on, citizenship applications will be handled solely by Hungarian diplomatic missions in Romania. The Eurotrans Foundation, which has been involved in this process for 11 years, will continue its operations until the end of the year, as funding is secured. The decision follows allegations regarding Eurotrans's involvement in organizing mail-in voting for Hungarian parliamentary elections, raising concerns about electoral integrity. The change may complicate access to services for those living in rural areas, as Eurotrans previously provided local assistance.
