The Romanian Minister of Agriculture, Florin Barbu, announced that the EU Council presidency approved the inclusion of transitional national aids in the upcoming Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) regulations. This decision, made during the AgriFish Council meeting, allows for these aids to be granted beyond 2027. Barbu emphasized the importance of supporting farmers' incomes, especially during challenging times. The AgriFish Council is also discussing key agricultural and fishing topics, including future CAP strategies and fishing quotas in the Baltic Sea for 2027. Additionally, the Council will prepare the EU's position for the upcoming ICCAT meeting in November.
