Polling stations in Israel opened at 7 AM and will close at 10 PM, with over 7 million registered voters. The election features a significant contest between Netanyahu's right-wing coalition and the opposition led by Gadi Eisenkot. The Knesset elections use a proportional representation system, and the Arab parties may hold the balance of power for the first time. Preliminary results will be available after polls close, with the president inviting parties to nominate a prime minister based on preferences.
