The blue crab, a rare species recently spotted in the Black Sea, is being promoted as a local delicacy. Turkish chefs are developing recipes to highlight this crustacean, which has been increasingly caught by local fishermen. The crab, known for its tender and slightly sweet meat, is currently imported by coastal restaurants at a price of 60 lei per kilogram. Efforts are underway to create special traps for its capture, while events will be organized to introduce the crab to the public. The initiative is supported by a European grant of 200,000 euros, aiming to turn this invasive species into a culinary attraction.
