The Minister of Health, Alexandru Rogobete, announced plans to reorganize the healthcare system, particularly regarding on-call duties. He mentioned that doctors could receive a 25% increase based on the number of shifts worked, and residents might also be compensated for their shifts. The current structure of on-call duties will be revised to ensure fair payment across all hospitals and specialties. Rogobete emphasized the need for progressive payment for additional shifts, aiming for equity in compensation. He also expressed the intention to include first, second, and third-year residents in the payment scheme, albeit at lower rates than specialists. The estimated annual budget impact of these changes is around 500 million lei, with additional funding from the Ministry of Health.
