Transelectrica has announced the capacity and starting prices for the upcoming auction for grid connection capacity allocation. The auction sessions will begin on October 30, 2026, and will occur daily until the available capacity is exhausted. The total capacity available for bidding is 1,566 MW, with significant portions in southern Romania. The minimum starting price ranges from 724,000 lei/MW to 3.8 million lei/MWh. This new competitive mechanism replaces the previous first-come, first-served principle, allowing only those who win the auction to connect their projects to the grid. Participants could register their projects until July 14.
