Pensioners currently paying health insurance contributions may see increased net incomes after the CASS measure expires in 2028. The increase will depend on gross pension levels and income tax calculations. Currently, CASS is deducted from pensions, but its removal will automatically reflect in net pension amounts without requiring additional applications. However, only those with pensions exceeding 3,000 lei will benefit, as lower pensions are exempt from CASS. For example, a gross pension of 4,500 lei could see a net increase of 135 lei monthly, while an 8,000 lei pension might gain 450 lei. Those with pensions below 3,000 lei will not experience any changes.
