The underground passage at the intersection of Tudor Vladimirescu, Oneștilor, and Lăpușului streets in Oradea is completed and will open on October 26, 2026. This is the seventh of eight planned passages by the Bihor County Council to ease traffic in busy intersections. The passage allows uninterrupted traffic from Tudor Vladimirescu to Lăpușului, while local traffic is managed by a roundabout above. The project also included the modernization of Lăpușului street and the replacement of water and sewage networks. Funded by European grants, the total project cost is 75 million lei, which includes smart pedestrian crossings for safety. The eighth passage is planned for Matei Corvin street, with a tender to be launched soon.
