The Romanian Senate has approved a bill extending the ban on public authorities purchasing Russian cybersecurity software until December 31, 2035. This initiative, led by PNL, aims to protect public institutions' IT systems amid the ongoing conflict in Ukraine. The current law, effective until 2026, will now be modified to prolong the restriction. The bill received overwhelming support with 104 votes in favor and minimal opposition. It aligns with UN resolutions condemning Russia's aggression against Ukraine and emphasizes the need for cybersecurity measures.
