Diacarn Food plans to invest around 1 million euros to open 11-12 discount supermarkets under the Adia brand, taking over spaces previously occupied by the Russian chain Mere. The first six stores will launch in early December across various Romanian cities. The company aims to create 150 new jobs and will offer a product range with a significant portion sourced locally, including meat processed at their facility in Vrancea. This move follows the gradual withdrawal of Mere from several European markets due to sanctions against Russian companies.
