For those with multiple vehicles, they can choose which car will be tax-free. The lawmakers argue that after purchasing a car and paying all related taxes, citizens should not face an additional annual tax simply for ownership. Simu emphasizes that for many Romanians, a car is a daily necessity, not a luxury. The proposal also includes measures to ensure local governments are compensated for the lost tax revenue from the state budget, maintaining financial balance.
