Military pensioners affected by an unconstitutional progressive tax will receive refunds automatically, as proposed by USR deputy Radu Miruță. Over 27,000 pensioners will benefit from this initiative, which aims to rectify past injustices. Currently, around 3,000 pensioners have sued the state, with many winning favorable court decisions. The proposed law outlines a repayment plan from the state budget for the unconstitutional tax amounts, following a Constitutional Court decision that invalidated certain tax provisions. Refunds will be made in annual installments starting in December 2026.
